We left Abilene Friday morning and headed to Ft. Worth. We dropped Jonathan off at his parents house so he could help his family cut a tree down in the front yard. That made me a bit nervous so I took the boys to meet up with a friend for lunch in Dallas. We had a great time with the Lonergans (I didn't get any pics) and I wish we would have had more time to talk (small children, nap time approaching, melting...)
Then we headed back to Ft. Worth and spent the afternoon with some family. We went out to dinner that evening and Parker was not having it (he was still getting over the flu). So I took Parker out to the car and we watched Jake and the Neverland Pirates on my phone until everyone else finished dinner.
We had our adult "free" gifts when everyone got back to the house. That has become one of my favorite things we do at Mitchell Christmas. We draw names, as couples, then come up with a free/thoughtful gift. Such a fun time as just adults!
The next morning when we got back to Papa and Gramma's house the kids got to open stockings. It is pure chaos with 10 kids!!
The boys got a new table and chairs!
Another Mitchell Christmas activity is acting out the Christmas story. Papa is the narrator and the kids and some adults act it out for everyone else. This was the first year that Luke could really participate. He got to be a wise man! We've been shepherds and sheep but you know those sheep... they don't want to sit still and listen quietly!
Mitchell baseball game
Jonathan's grandparents moved a little before Christmas and one of Big Jim's famous jumpsuits was held aside to become one of Jonathan's favorite Christmas presents! :)
Cousin time!
We found out that Luke and his cousin Ben had the same pjs so we made them twinkies for the night!
We had a great time with the whole Mitchell crew!
