Our Garden (4/10 Update)

So we've wanted to have a garden for a while. Our dilemma has been that we kill things. Every time. 

We decided to give it a whirl and pray that something would happen for the kids' sake! ha!

They actually started to sprout!!! Thank you Jesus!!

Jonathan built garden beds with scrap wood that we had. 

At about 2 weeks in Parker got into Luke's room and dumped two of the pots of tomato plants. Luke was pretty devastated and I was trying to hide my devastation! :) They were completely upside down so I tried my best to try to scoop everything up and flip them fast. The sprouts were covered now and we hoped that they would be strong enough to poke through yet again. 

And they did it!!

Jonathan planted carrots, lettuce, spinach, green onions in this little garden bed. 

Jonathan also constructed a cage/netting to protect the seeds and plants. 

The tall garden bed will have snow peas, okra, corn and tomatoes. 

I hope this works!! haha!

 So far so good! But this dang Texas weather is trying it's very best to freeze our garden! 93 one day 39 the next?!? Sheesh!

Taylor Reveal Party!

My brother and sister-in-law are due in August with the next grandbaby! We are so excited for them!!

On March 9th they went to have THE sonogram and then they "revealed" it to us in the cutest way at dinner!

February 2013

February is such a fun month for us as we celebrate both boys' birthdays! I'm learning that I am going to have to be very intentional to make Parker's actual birthday special. With the Luke's birthday typically falling before the party (I try to make a big deal of the day) and Parker's birthday typically falling after the birthday party I got nothin' left! I'll do better next year! Thankfully he's still too young to know when the actual day is.
